Generative artificial intelligence has the potential to impact virtually every aspect of human life. One of the most important events in human life is the choice of a life partner. Not only is the choice of a partner a defining event in human life at the individual level, but successful and efficient pair selection also affects the effective and sustainable functioning of society as a whole. And this is where applied artificial intelligence could play a crucial role.

Artificial intelligence already plays important roles in the dating process. In this role, however, it is not relevant to consider the increasing use of AI to take over the function of a human partner entirely, and to simulate human interaction by acting as a virtual companion. In such a role, however satisfactory the virtual companion may appear to be in providing a form of companionship for the person, it is an obvious dead end for the survival of human society, and this can only be a misapplication of artificial intelligence in human relationships.

A useful application of AI is already present in online dating platforms, where AI can make personalized recommendations based on individually provided information by recognizing similarities using matching algorithms. In its most advanced form, AI uses machine learning to analyze a person's profile, preferences, and interactions, build a model, compare it to other people's profiles, and recommend a match based on useful similarities.

The most useful future use of AI in this area could be a full extension of this capability, where AI not only analyzes information about an individual's online presence, but looks at real-world behavior, including real-time speech and vision analysis, and even monitoring other activities also, and builds a continuously updated model of the individual, compares it to similar behavior profiles of others in society, and makes appropriate recommendations.

The tools for such an application are more or less already available. At the sensory level, sensors in smartphones, smartwatches, augmented reality glasses, etc. could be suitable tools, and at the modeling and model matching level, generative artificial intelligence can already be a suitable tool for this application. The tools can be continuously developed and extended, and as they evolve, more accurate profiles of individuals can be created and more accurate matching recommendations can be made using the data.

For a successful application, there must also be a feedback function that tracks the success of the relationship in the case of recommended and accepted partner selection. This feedback can also support the automatic evolution of the artificial intelligence matchmaking model.

Human nature is an extremely complex system, and successful match-making is a combination of all of these factors, but pair selection is evidently not a random process. Randomness most significantly manifests itself in the real encounter of potentially matching couples. Regardless of the complexity of the task of effective and successful human pair selection, there are intrinsic correlations that can be recognized by generative artificial intelligence. Fully extended applied AI may be able to effectively reduce the role of prevailing randomness.

Such an application of artificial intelligence could even lead to a significant new business model, as it could serve a broad societal need and perform a useful social function. However, as with any high-impact social tool, this application can have significant risks if the data collected is not used for the intended benign purpose. This risk, however, is not specific to this application, but is a general problem with the ownership of personal data. Much of the data needed for this application is already collected, even without the individual's consent. The potential, intentionally malicious, or even unintentionally illicit use of personal data, which still has a negative impact on the functioning of society, is a common problem in the field, which may even determine the existence of human society in the long run, and which requires social regulation to solve.

Aware of this problem, artificial intelligence can play a significant role in the process of efficient and effective human partner selection, not only as a successful business opportunity, but also as a fundamental contribution to the successful functioning of society.
