To know nature means to know its building blocks and the laws which govern it. However, to know something does not mean to understand it. For example, we know how to play chess, we know the figures, and how the figures can behave. We can play chess very well. But still, we do not understand chess. We do not know why the figures act as the way the laws of chess shows us. We still can play well without a deeper understanding. Of course, maybe there is no deeper understanding. In the case of chess, we created the rules the way we thought the game would be playable with joy and excitement. We behaved like God. We created the laws, not as the effect of causes.
However maybe there are more than just the rules, there is a deeper way of understanding. Maybe there are reasons why the laws as are and still no place of God. As an example of chess, if the figures would have the inherent properties of seeing and moving in a specific way, by understanding this model we could derive the rules of the chess or at least most of them. Without the model, we just accept the laws. We can be professional chess players just by knowing the moves but to understand chess, why the rules as they are, we should recognize the deeper model. For chess, there is no deeper level, no deeper reason just the way as it is. We reached the level of God.
However, nature can have many more levels of reasons what we know now. To go deeper, we need to recognize the models, which caused the given level laws. We may know the rules and formulas, we can count the outcomes with many digit precision, and we let us proud because of that, but without knowing the model, we just accepting God. If we want to understand nature, we have to know its model.
Without the model, we know only the laws but not the causes. We should not fool ourselves. Search and find the model, which creates the laws. We may get success if nature comprehensible by us. Believe that, it may be true.
