We hear about artificial intelligence research daily. There are new and new improvements in this field. The most interesting areas of these researches are the driverless cars, "intelligently" talking mobile phones, and the more and more efficient internet search motors.

A good free course for introduction to artificial intelligence is available on the edx.org site.

But the direction of these artificial intelligence research is a fruitful but nonetheless dead end for the "INTELLIGENCE" research. Today's artificial intelligence research is more like applied human intelligence. We are building artificial intelligence systems by creating and applying rule models, which we utilize to process the input data and create the output data. The applied rule models are the results of human intelligence, and this way practically are applications of existing intelligence.

The real challenge is whether we create a system that is capable of developing intelligence by itself. This kind of system does not only behave intelligently but can create intelligence too. We can call this system natural intelligence because the system's intelligence is the result of the operation of the system. A driverless car or a talking mobile telephone application might look more intelligent than a newborn human baby, but the difference is unquestionable. A human being is capable of developing intelligence behaviors by himself. The artificial intelligence systems can behave intelligently only by applying the already existing intelligence.

Can the human intelligence create natural intelligence? Do we have the answer to this question yet?
